I am currently in my third year of a Ph.D. program in Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University, marking my second doctoral journey. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, with a minor in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Logistics—both from Inha University in South Korea.
During my first doctoral program, my research focused on air transportation management, covering topics such as airline operational efficiency, air passenger behavior, demand forecasting, and competition and cooperation between air and rail transportation. In addition, I collaborated on several industry projects, including transit unity fare system in Seoul Metropolitan area, the investigation of smart logistics patents, and consulting on Incheon airport cargo terminal operations. These projects involved close cooperation with government research institutes, forwarding companies, and municipal authorities.
Motivated to further strengthen my research skills and actively collaborate with distinguished scholars at leading institutions, I chose to pursue a second Ph.D. in the United States. At MSU, my research has expanded to examine the dynamics of buyer–supplier relationships and supply chain resilience. I am particularly interested in how power dynamics, innovation, and interfirm rivalry influence outcomes across various forms of supply chain networks. Methodologically, I integrate econometric analysis, text mining, and data envelopment analysis (DEA) to produce insights that bridge academic theory and practical application.
